Nutrition

Why nutrition is so important

Nutrition is the process of providing or obtaining the food necessary for health, growth and optimal function. Think of nutrition as the building blocks of life.

The essential nutrients for life include carbohydrates, proteins and lipids (fats), as well as fiber, vitamins, minerals and water (the solvent for all soluble ingredients in the blood and cells). The absorption of nutrients begins the moment we start to digest our food.

Nutrition is just one area of focus in developing and maintaining good health as defined as a state of complete physical, emotional/mental and social well-being – a healthy mind, body and spirit.

Through proper nutrition the body is nourished to function the way it was intended to function.

With so many diets available today, how do you decipher which is the one that will provide the body with the needed essential nutrients?

During your appointment with Dr. Leah, we will discuss the nutrient plan that will best fit you, getting you on the path that will lead to the healthiest you and thus free you of disease and hindrance from achieving optimal health.
